NFL Wild Card Weekend Predictions
AFC Wild Card:
Colts over Jets
A rematch of last years AFC Championship game and this time around I expect similar results. Jets will stay in the game at first with their defense, but over time Manning’s will and determination will wear down New York as they move on to the Divisional Round to face Big Ben and the Steelers.
Ravens over Chiefs
Experienced vs Non-Experienced here between Baltimore and Kansas City and after this game is over I think the experience factor will be the difference. The Chiefs will be playing their first playoff game since 2006 and Arrowhead will be rocking but Flacco and company will punch their ticket to New England.
NFC Wild Card:
Saints over Seahawks
Talk about a mismatch here it is. The defending Super Bowl Champs against the first 7-9 team to reach the postseason. Sure Seattle will have their 12th man behind them but they are outmatched in every category here. New Orleans moves on to face the Bears.
Packers over Eagles
I know Michael Vick has had an MVP type season but I just don’t like the way they finished off the season. They lay an egg against the Vikings which killed their chances of getting a first round bye and they do not play well against the Cowboys in their season finale, granted Vick sat the game out. On the other hand the Packers are riding a wave of momentum into the postseason seeing that their season looked over a couple of weeks ago. Aaron Rodgers is back from his concussion and I think they will pull the upset in Philadelphia. This sets up a rematch between Rodgers and Falcons QB Matt Ryan where the two squared off in the regular season with Ryan edging Rodgers late in the 4th.
